The International Democratic Education Conference is a gathering of educators, students, parents, academics and other parties interested in democratic education.
1993 - The Democratic School of Hadera, Israel 1994 - Sands School, England 1995 - The WUK, Vienna, Austria 1996 - The Democratic School of Hadera, Israel 1997 - Sands School, England 1998 - The Stork Family School, Vinnitsa, Ukraine 1999 - Summerhill School, England 2000 - Tokyo Shure, Japan 2002 - Tamariki School, New Zealand (the text of some of the talks can be found here) 2003 - Albany, New York 2004 - Bhubaneshwar, Orissa, India 2009 - IDEC 2009 which was to be held in Korea was cancelled due to concerns about the H1N1 flu virus. In true democratic fashion some people continued with their plans to travel to Seoul and an informal IDEC was held for about 3/4 days. There were also two online conference sessions with the people in Seoul. |
