The International Democratic Education Conference is a gathering of educators, students, parents, academics and other parties interested in democratic education.

2009 - IDEC 2009 which was to be held in Korea was cancelled due to concerns about the H1N1 flu virus. In true democratic fashion some people continued with their plans to travel to Seoul and an informal IDEC was held for about 3/4 days. There were also two online conference sessions with the people in Seoul.
